Valborg Theatre is the University Theatre Mainstage. The Valborg is a 334 seat modified thrust performance venue. The furthest seat from the edge of the stage is only 40' away.
Acoustically pristine, the Valborg offers great sightlines and a wonderful intimacy for both performers and audience.
I.G. Greer Arena is a black-box theatre utilized for classes and performances. It seats 80 and is equipped with lighting and sound equipment, makeup/dressing room, and prop/furniture storage area. This is the primary venue for one acts and most student-organized productions.
The Schaefer Center serves as the University "roadhouse" and is the primary venue of The Office of Arts and Cultural Programs and is utilized occasionally by the Department of Theatre & Dance.
The costume studio produces costumes for all of the mainstage productions. Both faculty and students design these productions. The costumes are executed by the students in the department's classes and by paid student staff. The costume studio is open during the week. Costume studio hours are posted on the door.
