Post Tenure Review Policies: Theatre and Dance

The University Dossier

Required for all tenure track reappointments, tenure considerations, and post tenure reviews. All tenure track and tenured faculty members must use the current dossier guidelines in the Faculty Handbook; under the Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure section, see current Dossier Guidelines (4.4.5.1).

Additional Artifacts

Tenure Track faculty: Additionally, the PTC and the chair will consider a limited and concise number of artifacts that document the faculty members' overall work, in teaching, scholarship/creative activity, and service. If creative work is submitted, the focus should be limited to 2-3 "significant" scholarly or creative works to support the narrative in the dossier, as defined by the applicant. All submitted materials should not exceed 100 pages. A folder to store these materials will be available on the TD cloud.

Post Tenure Review, past 5 years

  • Must complete the required university dossier (4.4.5.1). Dossier must meet the guidelines established in the TD policy for artifacts.
  • Dossier must meet the guidelines established in the TD policy for artifacts.
  • There are individual differences in abilities and interests that require flexibility in evaluating performance in each area (teaching, scholarship/creativity and service). Each person contributes to the department in different ways and the faculty member determines the weight for each of the areas in the annual evaluation these weights should be used as guidelines. The faculty member will provide a narrative for the weights (teaching, research/creative activity, service) that have been determined.
  • Must follow University (400.3.3.1[G]) guidelines for Post Tenure Review and according to the Faculty Handbook (4.7.1-4.7.5).
