Sue Williams serves as Assistant Chair, Coordinator of the General Theatre Concentration and designs costumes and makeup for both theatre and dance productions in the department.  She has been at Appalachian since 1993. She co-leads the Theatre in Europe study abroad program with colleague Paulette Marty.  Her teaching areas include Costume Design, Theatrical Costume and Makeup, The Stage Environment, and Dance Production Basics.  Prior to coming to Appalachian, she taught and designed for ten years at LaGrange College. She has designed for local theatres such as the Blowing Rock Stage Company and Lees-McRae Summer Theatre, as well as others.
