DANCING WITH OURSELVES
uses the virtual background feature in zoom so dancers appear to be in close proximity, sharing the screen, dancing with each other. These virtual background experiments are a novelty offering a remote way to make an abstract dance, a vehicle to address our isolation in quarantine, and a lens through which to reflect on this moment in the world.  The quartet of performers infuse this unique dance offering with pathos and humor, creating layers and ruptures, turning the confining zoom square into something visually raw, imaginative, and sometimes joyous.
