The Department of Theatre and Dance at Appalachian State University invites you to STAND WITH US and "BE A LIGHT"

Where: In front of The Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts, 733 Rivers Street, Boone, NC 28608

When: Thursday, January 19 at 5:30 pm. Please plan to arrive by 5:15 pm.

Why: To make it known that theater and dance venues will remain, as always, a safe space FOR ALL.

Stand with us this Thursday, January 19 at 5:30 pm as Appalachian’s Department of Theatre and Dance, along with theater communities across the nation, come together in a collective, simultaneous action to launch The Ghostlight Project.

Inspired by the tradition of leaving a "ghost light" on in a darkened theater, we will renew our pledge to uphold the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone--regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Just bring yourself and a clear/white electric light source of any kind; flashlight, cell phone light, candle, or lantern, and we will do the rest.
