Sherone received his dance training at North Carolina Central University, Duke University, the American Dance Festival; BFA, University of North Carolina-Greensboro; MFA from Hollins University/American Dance Festival. He has been on the ADF faculty since 1995. In recent years Sherone has also served as dance instructor at Agnes Scott College/Moving in the Spirit, in Atlanta, GA, and Georgia Youth Ballet Company; guest teacher for National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts in Miami, FL, 2005 and 2007; lecturer at University of North Carolina Greensboro, 1988–2001. He was a member of John Gamble/Jan Van Dyke Dance Company, 1991–1995; was a dancer and choreographer with Greensboro-based Otesha Performing Arts Ensemble, 1989–2000, and Kombankofu Dance and Drum Ensemble 1996–2001; member and choreographer with the Delou Africa Dance Ensemble in Miami, FL; principal with Chuck Davis African American Dance Ensemble, 1983–present. Sherone was selected by Talley Beatty to perform his classic Mourner's Bench at the 1993 Scripps/ADF Award Ceremony. Sherone received the 1999 Regional Artist Grant to study West African Dance and Drumming in Guinea, West Africa.
