Ms. Elizabeth McCracken

Liz McCracken has a Master of Arts in Dance Education from UNC Greensboro, and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Sweet Briar College, VA. She is a previous k-12 educator in the public schools, and has developed and taught high school dance curriculums in both Roxboro, NC and Newport News, VA. She was the dance director of WashArts, a community-based arts school in Washington, PA and also has extensive experience teaching creative movement classes. Liz has a strong interest in ballroom dance, and frequently freelances private ballroom instruction.

Liz has danced with the modern dance companies SG Dance Theater and G. Alex and the Movement, both from Boone, NC. She has performed in the North Carolina Dance Festival at ASU in 2015 and 2016 and in the Greensboro Fringe Festival in 2017, in addition to several other local performances. Currently, Liz is an active board member, participant, and teacher in Verge Dance Collective, a non-profit dance company that offers classes and choreography opportunities to local dance artists in Boone.

Liz teaches DAN 2030, an online class called Dance, Media, and Culture. She also teaches DAN 2010, Exploring the Arts: Dance. She and her family live in Boone.
