Thursday, April 11

Welcome and check-in | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Theatre and Dance Department Office, 110 Chapell Wilson Hall
Enjoy a day on campus to visit the library, the stadium and the bookstore, and hang out in Boone at all of your favorite haunts. But stop by Varsity Gym or Chapell Wilson to say hello first!

Join us for some Woodlands Barbeque, beer, wine and Valborg Theatre birthday cake in the university’s beautiful Solarium hosted by our faculty, with special guests our Emeriti Theatre and Dance faculty. This is our opportunity to welcome you back, and for you to see who else made it back for the weekend.

Just what it says! Don’t be shy, now! Bring your favorite songs, monologues or improv sketches. Greer is highlighted by a yellow dot on this map. Entrance to the Studio Theatre is on the ground floor, just below Greer Auditorium.

Saturday, April 13

Department of Theatre and Dance Information Meetings and Facilities Tours | 10:15 and 11:15 a.m., and 12:15 p.m.
(Enter Theatre through Valborg Lobby)
It’s university-wide Open House and that means that we will be presenting information meetings about our curriculum and department philosophy, followed by a tour of our facilities in both Chapell Wilson Hall and Varsity Gym. While these sessions are specific to prospective students and their parents, we invite you to join us!

Alumni Family Picnic | 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Valle Crucis Park, Valle Crucis, NC
Grab a sandwich to go and come on out to Valle Crucis Park to hang out by the river with friends. All are welcome!  We have a picnic shelter reserved. Directions here.

Free Time | 2 – 6 p.m.

"Valborg 25” Gala Reception | 6 – 7:30 p.m.
Plemmons Student Union Solarium 
Join our Provost and entire Theatre and Dance community for a gala pre-show reception of heavy hors d’oeuvres, adult beverages and a special presentation by the department chair. NOTE: Your reception nametag, which you will pick up at the event, is your ticket to the show.

Department of Theatre and Dance gala performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" | 8 – 10 p.m.
Valborg Theatre
Join us for the department’s 2019 interpretation of the very first show every produced in Valborg Theatre! This show stars our talented students both on stage and in the wings. All attendees receive a special gift after the show. Coffee will be served at intermission.

Sunday, April 14

This day is reserved for you to have breakfast at your favorite haunt with friends, take another walk through campus, visit the shops on King Street or to take a drive along the Parkway before you head home.

Thank you for being here with us to celebrate Valborg Theatre's 25th anniverary this weekend! Safe travels home!
