The department provides experiences that prepare students for teaching careers, graduate school or professional internships, and professional or recreational careers.

After admission to the university, your first few semesters are spent completing the liberal arts "core curriculum." After your core is underway, you can declare your major and begin to take more classes in your degree area.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree is designed for the student who plans a career in theatre or dance or is preparing for graduate school. Students may pursue a BA in Dance Studies or one of four concentrations in Theatre.

The minor is designed for the student that has an interest in theatre or dance. Students who minor may do so in combination with any major. Students may get a Theatre Minor or a Dance Minor.

You do not have to be a declared major to participate in our productions. We recommend that you VISIT the Department as soon as you can to discover ways to get involved. You might also investigate the Students link for more information.
